Exploring Smart Features in Electric Vehicles: Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
Jakarta, June 6, 2024 – The era of electric vehicles (EVs) is rapidly advancing, bringing with it a variety of technological innovations and smart features that are not only sophisticated but also tailored to meet consumer needs. One of the crucial smart features for driving safety and comfort is the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This technology integrates sensors, cameras, and intelligent systems to detect the vehicle's surroundings, helping drivers avoid potential accidents while driving. What features does ADAS include?
NETA, a leading distributor of electric vehicle brands in Indonesia, has successfully launched its latest lineup, the NETA V-II, featuring ADAS as one of its key strengths. The Smart Driving feature with 9 ADAS functions in the NETA V-II provides additional safety and security on the road. These features are:
- Forward Collision Warning (FCW): This feature detects objects that could lead to a collision and warns the driver, allowing the vehicle to automatically maintain a safe distance from potential hazards.
- Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB): When an object that could cause a collision is detected, the system automatically applies the brakes to prevent an accident.
- Front Vehicle Start Alert (FSA): This system detects the movement of objects in front of the vehicle. If the object ahead starts to move forward at a red light, the system alerts the driver.
- Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): This system allows the car to automatically accelerate and decelerate to match the speed of the vehicle in front.
- Traffic Jam Assist (TJA): Part of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), this system helps the car automatically accelerate and decelerate in traffic jams or on the highway, providing a comfortable driving experience and reducing driver fatigue.
- Intelligent Cruise Assist (ICA): This system helps maintain a safe distance between vehicles.
- Lane Departure Warning (LDW): This feature detects if the car unintentionally drifts out of its lane and provides a warning.
- Lane Keeping Assist (LKA): If the Lane Departure Warning is ignored, the system corrects the steering to bring the car back into its lane.
- High Beam Assist (HBA): This system automatically switches the car's headlights between high and low beams depending on traffic conditions.
“ADAS is an essential feature in smart EVs today, especially considering the road conditions in Indonesia, particularly in urban areas which are extremely congested. These conditions often make drivers easily fatigued and less aware of their surroundings. With ADAS, the driver's burden is reduced as this feature can provide warnings to help the driver be more alert and prevent collisions. The NETA V-II, with its 9 ADAS functions, is very well-suited for the Indonesian market,” explained Jordy Angkawidjaja, Product Planning Manager at PT NETA Auto Indonesia.
With various smart features and stylish exterior and interior upgrades, the NETA V-II is competitively priced at Rp 299 million (OTR Jakarta). Additionally, NETA offers other benefits such as a Lifetime Warranty, a free PLN Mobile balance of Rp 2.5 million, and free wall charging with installation. These perks demonstrate NETA's commitment to providing not only quality products but also premium after-sales service for the long term.
