PT NETA Auto Indonesia Celebrates First Local Production of NETA V-II with Line Off Celebration
Jakarta, 22 April 2024 – PT NETA Auto Indonesia, a leading electric car distributor in Indonesia, celebrated a line-off celebration event as a symbolic ceremony inaugurating the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) production of NETA, which will commence from May. The event took place at the Pondok Ungu factory in Bekasi, West Java, where the NETA V-II, set to be launched later this year, will be the first model to be assembled locally. This historic moment marks not only a significant milestone in NETA's global journey but also reaffirms NETA's commitment to providing advanced electric vehicles accessible to all sectors in Indonesia.
"Today is one of the important moments for us, as we can realize one of our commitments and strategic plans to expand the electric car market in Indonesia with the inauguration of local CKD production. We also thank our partner, PT Handal Indonesia Motor, for their cooperation and support in assembling NETA electric cars locally," said Alan Zhou, Vice President of NETA & President of Overseas Business Dept.
The ceremony was officiated by Alan Zhou, Vice President of NETA & President of Overseas Business Dept., and attended by representatives from PT Handal Indonesia Motor, namely Denny Siregar, President Director PT Handal Indonesia Motor. The collaboration between NETA and PT HIM is the initial step for NETA in developing internationally standard quality electric cars assembled locally to meet the needs of consumers in the country.
Located at the Pondok Ungu factory in Bekasi, with a production capacity of up to 27,000 units per year, NETA will focus on starting local assembly through CKD for several models to be introduced this year. Not only that, NETA is also committed to increase local content by collaborating with PT Gotion Green Energy Solutions Indonesia for the supply of NETA electric car batteries with the aim of increasing local component development to reach the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) standard of 40% and higher percentage of TKDN by in near future.
Since NETA's presence in 2014, the company has successfully introduced and reached the international market, distributing more than 350,000 NETA electric cars globally. And now, NETA is focusing on expanding its presence in the automotive market in ASEAN, including Indonesia, which has great potential for electric vehicle growth.
